This was a much harder list to put together than for November. I rewatched a couple of movies that I love, and I’m still unpacking how I feel about certain movies. Without further ado, here is my ranked list of movies that I watched in December of 2023 . . .

1. The Social Network

This is one of my all-time favorite movies, so it is not surprising that this is my favorite movie of the month. I’ve watched it so many times that I have certain lines memorized, but it never fails to entertain me. It is beautifully edited, and the cast is so talented. The Social Network is currently on Netflix. But it never stays for too long, so I would watch it now while you still can . . .

If you’ve interacted with me in the past couple of weeks, there is a very high chance that you have heard me talking about dragons. I recently read Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros which is a new adult book set in a war college for dragon riders, and ever since then, I have been mildly obsessed with dragons.

Centenary College of Louisiana provides a wide range of courses and opportunities that are centered around the arts; however, many students are unaware of the extent of these programs and experiences. For instance, Professor Shea Hembrey, who is the assistant professor of art, designed the Studio Art curriculum to encourage every student majoring in the field to create a show during their senior year. Hembrey built this experience in order to emulate the real world of art, stating that “this is  how artists work generally. Artists work for years at a time on a project for an exhibit” and this senior  show teaches the students “presentation skills not just studio skills because they are thinking about a  viewer.” 

Recently, I’ve been watching old seasons of Project Runway on Hulu, and the last season I watched was season twelve: the most dramatic season of Project Runway I have ever watched . . .

The day before school started, I was walking in the rain with one of my suitemates when I heard the BeReal notification go off. I rushed up Hardin’s front steps and pulled out my phone to take a BeReal.

In case you didn’t already know, Callie Fedd has been our amazing Editor-in-chief this year, and I don’t think any of us could have asked for a better person to lead our newspaper. Leading is something that Callie did a lot of in her time at Centenary.

You have probably become either mildly obsessed with Wordle or mildly confused as to why everyone else is obsessed with it. But, if you have yet to hear of the phenomenon and you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, Wordle is a daily word puzzle where you have six tries to guess a five-letter word.

I watched the second season of Cheer in two days, and I have some thoughts.
